There are different types of Canadian visitors visas depending on the purpose and duration of your visit. Some of the most common ones are:
Temporary Resident Visa (TRV)
This is a visa that allows you to enter and stay in Canada for up to six months as a visitor, student, worker, or family member of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. You need to apply for this visa before you travel to Canada, unless you are from a visa-exempt country or have a valid Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA).
Super Visa
This is a visa that allows parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents to visit Canada for up to two years at a time. You need to meet certain eligibility criteria, such as having a letter of invitation, proof of financial support, and medical insurance. You also need to undergo a medical exam and provide biometrics.
Transit Visa
This is a visa that allows you to transit through Canada for up to 48 hours without entering the country. You need to apply for this visa before you travel to Canada, unless you are from a visa-exempt country or have a valid eTA. You also need to have a confirmed onward ticket and meet the requirements of your destination country.
Business Visitor Visa This is a visa that allows you to visit Canada for business purposes, such as attending meetings, conferences, trade shows, or training sessions. You need to prove that your main source of income and business is outside Canada, that you do not intend to enter the Canadian labour market, and that your visit is less than six months. You may also need a letter of invitation from your Canadian host or a letter of support from your employer.
